About the Editorial Team Behind This Review Site
An independent editorial resource that reviews IG Markets for Australian readers and answers to those readers, not to the broker.
To our partnerWe start from your situation, not the sales pitch
Most people who land here are trying to answer a practical question before they open an account: what does this broker actually offer, what does it cost, and where are the rough edges? We write for that reader. This site is an independent editorial resource that reviews IG Markets for an Australian audience. We are not the broker, we are not affiliated with it, and we do not provide financial services, accounts, deposits or advice. Nothing here is a recommendation to trade or to open an account with anyone.
That distinction shapes everything on the site. We describe and assess; we do not onboard, hold money, execute orders or manage accounts. If you need personal advice about whether a product suits you, that conversation belongs with a licensed adviser who knows your circumstances, not with a review page.
We source facts and verify them before publishing
Our material comes from the broker's own published documents, including its product disclosure statements, terms and conditions, fee schedules and platform documentation, together with the regulator's public registers where a claim can be checked against them. Where a figure such as a spread, a commission or an inactivity charge matters to the reader, we look for it in the primary document rather than repeating it from secondary write-ups.
We check facts before publishing and re-check them when we revisit a page. That means comparing the current version of a document with the version our text was written against, and correcting anything that has moved. Where a point cannot be verified from a reliable public source, we either leave it out or say plainly that it is unverified. We do not fill gaps with assumptions.
We revisit pages on a schedule and after changes
Brokers change fees, product ranges, platform features and legal terms without much notice, so a review that is never revisited becomes misleading. We return to published pages at regular intervals and sooner when we learn that something material has changed, such as a revised fee schedule or an updated disclosure document. Each page carries the date it was last reviewed so you can judge how current it is.
Revisiting does not mean rewriting from scratch. Often the check confirms that the text still matches the source, and the date moves forward. When something has genuinely changed, we amend the text and, where the change affects the substance of our assessment, we say so rather than quietly editing it out.
We do not sell verdicts, and we tell you what a review cannot do
The site pays for itself through advertising and commercial arrangements with the broker and other parties, and those arrangements are kept separate from editorial judgement. No payment buys a favourable assessment, a softened criticism or a place in our conclusions. If we cannot say something critical because a commercial relationship would be compromised, we would rather not publish the review at all. Our conclusions follow the evidence we can check.
There are also limits to what any review can tell you. We cannot assess your circumstances, your tolerance for risk or your tax position. We cannot confirm how a platform will behave under volatile market conditions, how quickly a withdrawal will be processed on a given day, or how a dispute will be resolved. A review describes what a broker publishes and how it compares with what we can verify; it is a starting point for your own checks, not a substitute for them. If you want to raise something about our content, use the contact form on this site.
